The Plan

Ikon Business Solutions is a payroll bureau based in Dorset, experience in payroll management they work with UK clients remotely.

Alison needed help to setup a website alongside the new business. A few general guidelines were put on the table by Alison. Design wise we started with a blank slate. The business required a name, content, styles, a logo.

Domains and Name

Content was written first and the sitemap was decided upon however the name for the business proved tricky. The team asked for our advice, researched and brainstormed many names.

Ikon was the chosen name.

A selection of domain names that related to the business name were purchased for example ikonpayrolls.com.

All the extra domains were pointed to the main domain ikon-business-solutions.co.uk

Holding Page and Google Account Setup

A landing page was setup with basic contact details alongside a simple text logo. The domain was submitted to Google/Bing to begin the indexing process and a Google places listing was setup. When Ikon Business Solutions was typed into google we wanted the business to show immediately without the need to wait for the main website to go live.

Designing Ikon Business Solutions Logo

This logo was a collaboration of efforts and went through many iterations from start to finish until the final logo was decided upon that matched the right feel the team at Ikon wanted.

The colour scheme of teal and blue communicates a professional feel. The logo has been created in a vector format which means the logo will be highly detailed on any form of media either print or web.

Initial Design

To help the team at Ikon move forward with a creative direction via the website we put together a website layout based on the initial desired ideas.

Website Revisions

The first draft of the website had the right framework in place however Ikon wanted a simpler style website. Call to actions were removed, text was reorganised, spacing was reduced and fonts and colours were revised.

The website went through several revisions, every area was examined and no stone was left unturned.

As a new business often clients have very little content to hand in particular photo content, however with the use of stock photography websites like shutterstock the website was populated with relatable business photos.

Website Launch

The finished responsive website displays neatly across a variety of devices that importantly operates and loads incredibly fast. It has book a meeting facility through embedding a calendly widget and a reliable contact form which eliminates spam email.

The launch of the website was a success and will continue to grow with regular news articles and a planned expansion very soon.
